Shlomo Eitan’s 20 years of teaching Hebrew have included teaching in the
following institutions: The Hebrew University, Aish HaTorah College of Jewish
Studies, The Jerusalem College of Technology (Machon Lev), Darchei Noam/Shappels,
Midreshet Rachel-College of Jewish Studies for Women, The Executive Women’s Learning Program of Aish HaTorah, Yeshivat HaKotel and more.
Born and raised in the United States, Shlomo’s command of the Hebrew language
far surpasses most native speakers. After graduating from Yeshiva University,
Shlomo made aliyah in 1979, received smicha (rabbinical ordination) and
began to teach and help others acclimatize to both Israel and Jewish learning by
becoming more comfortable with the Hebrew language.
Shlomo served in the IDF (Israeli Defensive Force) and spent two and a half
years working in Jewish education in Rio de Janeiro, where he became fluent in Portuguese. He opened Ulpan Eitan in
1990, while continuing to teach both privately and in institutions. Shlomo and
his wife (a native Israeli) live in Jerusalem with their children.
